Use the Force Lucas

I saw this post on Robbo's site:
So it seems that the Disney Death Star may be tractoring Mark Hamill in to reprise his role as Luke Skywalker in the new series of Star Wars sequels.  I can just see it:
Eh?  Who was on the com link?  Oh, it was just the kids again, calling from the Academy.  How were they? Pah! Same as usual! Bitch, bitch, bitch!  Moan, moan, moan!  Gimme, gimme, gimme!
“The Next Hope.”  “The New Generation.“ Feh!  Why, if the Temple had been stocked with kids like that when Dad came to clean house that time, Yoda’d have held his coat and cheered him on!  By the Great Will-Obeying Midi-Chlorians! I know I was a hay-seed dope when I was a kid, but these guys?  If we’d had to rely on their type back then, Yavin would have a dust ring where our old base used to orbit!  Hoth would be known as the central supply base for the Empire’s snow-cone monopoly!  Hell, we’d still be wandering lost in the Endoran woods and all them damned Ewoks would be throw-rugs in the Emperor’s dacha!
Well, okay, I gotta admit that last part wouldn’t have been so bad….
Still….Dang whippersnappers!  Spoiled as garbage-masher bait and shifty as Jawas!  In my day, I did three times the training they did..after milking a hundred tauntauns and marching thirty miles through the snow-covered swamps of Dagobah!  Uphill!  Both ways!
But just listen to ‘em!
“Daddy, the reason I’m failing Force 201 is because my Jedi Master won’t let me express myself!”
”Dad, could you send me some more credits?  Like real soon?  You see, my ‘friend’ Jabba, Jr., needs them – it has to do with this dead cert for the 3:00 speeder race that kinda came unstuck……
”Dad, what did Aunt Leia do with that slave girl costume, again?”  (‘History project’ my bionic hand!)
By Chewie’s Beard!  I tell ya, it’s like their collective ego is one giant black hole, sucking everything else in the galaxy right into it!  And where does it get us?  Are we turning out model Jedi?  Hell, no!  Of course not!  Hit the side of a planet with a Death Star ray?  Why, they  couldn’t hit their own asses with both hands and a light-saber!  If the ghost of Jar-Jar Binks came back at the head of an army of teletubbies and smurfs, he’d clean the Republic’s clock in less than a week!  And good riddance, I says!
May the Great Unspecified, Vaguely-Deistic Maker help us!  I oughta get my lawyer on the com RIGHT NOW and change my will to give everything to that home for displaced Sand People!  In fact, I think I’ll do just that…….
Uh, hey, wait….what’s going on out there!  Gol-durn it, it’s them dang Boba-Fettlings messing around again!  HEY, YOU KIDS!  GIT OFF’N MY HYPERLAWN!
I’d almost pay money to watch this.
First off, same here. But! and this is huge to me. JJ Abrams is directing it. Ever since he did the new Star Trek Movies I've boycotted anything he's done. He RUINED Star Trek for the new generation. I mean when you F*** up TOS! I've got problems with you!

Happy Belated Birthday!

While I know it was Sunday/ Monday I'd like to dedicate this post to a certain Beatle named George Harrison. A great man. He was the first Beatle to meet another one. He and Paul went to the same school and met on the bus. John went to the school too but they didn't meet him until later. He was the youngest of them all and joined the group The Quarry Men at fourteen. The group consisted of Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Stu Sutcliff, and Pete best. All the others were fifteen or sixteen. When the others were eighteen they went to Hamburg, Germany. George was there illegally. There they saw another group called Rory Storm and the Hurricanes and there they found Richard Starkey or Ringo Starr. They made a success there and became famous. They changed their name to The Silver Beatles and then The Beatles. I say Sunday/ Monday because most of George's life he thought his birthday was the 25th, even though records do show he was born on the 24th. In the late 60's he became engulfed in Indian culture and dedicated his life to this culture. He died in 2001 from cancer. Most likely from smoking. Some more facts:
  • He met his first wife Pattie while working on the movie "A Hard Day's Night"
  • She left him for his friend Eric Clapton. for which he divorced her
  • He met his second wife Olivia and were married until his death
  • He and Olivia had one son, Dhani Harrison. Which is a tribute to how much he loved Eastern culture.
  • He loved "Monty Pythons Flying Circus" and was good friends with Eric Idol
  • He loved to garden
  • He wrote/ sang some of the best Beatle songs
  • He's my favorite
  • He was from Liverpool like all the other members of the band
  • Seriously they were ALL from Liverpool

A Poem

I've been watching Wings a lot and I found this poem particularly funny. Antonio's a cab driver on Nantucket. So he's "waiting for a fare" enjoy.

Antonio's entry in the Nantucket Tourism Board's booklet for local poets:

Waiting for a fare
Here comes one now
Oh, he looksa like he wants to go
some-a-place far
What? You just want directions
to the lighthouse?
It's right there
you stinking little tourist!
What are you--blind?!
Hey! You're gonna lose that finger pal!
Get in! I drive you
into the cold, dark ocean!
Waiting for a fare...
And come back soon

(P. S. Think Tony Shaloub with an Italian accent.)
 That's all for today.

Valentines Day Part 2

So yesterday I complained a bit but for those of you history buffs out there knew what happened on that day. And those who don't; read and learn.

Yesterday was the day of the Saint Valentines Day Massacre. On that day in 1929 seven mob members were killed in a parking garage. It was complicated and fascinating but that's what happened. There really isn't more to it than that. They were killed with sub machine guns and about four different gangs were involved. This is probably one of the most famous gang killings in history. It's said that the bricks are cursed. Several people have acquired bricks from the wall when it was deconstructed. Several with bullet holes in them. Those who have acquired them have fallen into bad luck or hardships. Just a theory but an interesting one at that.

I don't believe this stuff but who knows really?

S.A.D Day

Singles Awareness Day Day.

The most horrid, over rated, worst holiday of the year. I despise Valentines Day. I just do I hate it. The only good thing about it is Chocolate. I really like chocolate. I mean TV always makes Valentines Day out to be something spectacular. But even if you do all that stuff how could you top that next year. I've been blaring my depressing music and Beatles love songs all day. Ahh the sadness of my life. Don't worry I wont bitch to you about it. And if you have some significant other: don't really care about the awesomeness of your Valentines Day. I've got an excruciating chocolate headache right now. Oooh Big Bang Theory tonight! I get to watch the Valentines Day episode of Wings. So it's not all a bust. Sorry about not posting but 1) My internet's been down and it's hard to post if you y'know... can't and 2) I have had nothing to post about NOTHING!!!! I'm gonna go lie down, take a Tylenol, and think about how great life is.

(P. S. This song is just great has nothing to do with today. Well except heard it today listen:
Enjoy)

Beware

1. When you were growing up (or now), who were your nerd heroes?
John and Hank Green, Dr. McCoy, Spock, Kirk, Q, Luke Skywalker, The Vision, The Scarlet Witch, Batman, Pre-Power Peter Parker, Dr. Strange, Cloak and Dagger, Douglas Adams, Nathan Fillian, Joss Whedon, Gene Rodenberry, The Doctor, the entire cast of Firefly, Neil Gaimen, Steve Moffat...

2. I just heard someone use the phrase, "I wish I could un-see that!" If you had the power to actually un-see any one thing, what would it be?
The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins sung by Leonard Nimoy
 Now for your viewing pleasure:

3. Is there a city, state, or country you've never actually been to, but you always thought you really belonged there?
 Yes, England

4. Let's say you inherited a wildly profitable sports franchise that your family has been running for 40 years. You could either stick around and run it yourself or sell it and pocket a huge chunk of money. (For our purposes, we'll say your personal share would be $750 million after taxes.) Would you continue running the family business or go enjoy your windfall?
Enjoy the windfall

I have discovered Firefly! It's great awesome. You guys should check it out. It's on netflix!
