About MaggieG. and HFS

Ah, the feared Overlady, MaggieG. Her name brings up images of well..... I don't actually know what you think of when you think of me. Reader? Blogger? Trekkie? Well those are all correct. But I'm more than that. (Well talk to some people and they'll say I'm less but that's another story) I love music, especially music. We're talking everything from certain classical to classic rock. Kinda stop there. I dislike today's music scene. I love old movies, TV, I wear skirts and dresses more often than most women will in their life time. I watch a lot of British telly. (and this has also led to me using a lot of British terms that make me stick out and I end up explaining what I'm trying to say. But I watch: Sherlock, Blackadder, Fawlty Towers, Merlin, Doctor Who (to an extent), Monty Python and their 'Flying Circus' (The Comfy Chair!). And yes some of those are very stereotypical for Yanks to watch.

But I'm often told I'm almost Anti-American, I hate the American measuring system (can't we all be metric? PLEASE?), Chocolate chip cookies make me sick (literally), Apple pie is meh (Cherry is way better), and always always always tea over coffee. (My favorite coincidentally is English Breakfast.) And I listen to a TON of British music: Queen,The Beatles, The Who, David Bowie, Adam Ant, Duran Duran, ETC. (Hate Elton John however.)

On a more American note, I like baseball.... (Go METS!)

But I'm just an old-fashioned-overly-feminine-anti-modern-trekkie-browncoat-cooking-blogging-reading-sewer.

HFS is a good friend of mine (I have to write this or she won't). She suffers from constant allergies. She loves the color lavender (any attempts to say purple will be met with her wrath.) And is obsesses with rainbows. In her free time she reads and yells at me about symbolism, knits, crochets, and attempts to cook. Please note to stress the 'attempts'. But mostly she just yells at me about things.

We enjoy drinking milk, eating my turnovers, and watching Merlin together. She listens to strange foreign music and prefers deafening-maddening-horrific silence to music. (What is wrong with her?)

So this is us, a HFS and MaggieG. Hope you'll stick around.
